The year in summary

What the work has repaired, how the money was spent, and where it goes next — on one page, in plain figures.

Results

The running totals of the three programmes, as they stand at the time of this summary.

  • 640ha

of seagrass replanted on sea floor that had lost its meadows.

  • 212t

of ghost nets cut free and brought ashore.

  • 14

    active projects across the Mediterranean.

How the money was spent

91% of every euro went to the field.

That means the divers, boats and seedlings of seagrass restoration, the teams lifting ghost nets, and the work of agreeing fishing rules with coastal communities. The remaining 9% kept a registered charity running properly: accounts, governance and raising the next euro.

What comes next

The work ahead is the same work, carried further. More bare sea floor replanted, square metre by square metre. More lost nets found, cut free and brought ashore. More stretches of coast where the people who fish have agreed how to share the water.

The three programmes depend on each other, and they will keep moving together: a meadow is only worth replanting where nets no longer smother it and where fishing rules let it hold.

Monthly gifts matter most here. They let the teams plan planting and net recovery seasons ahead instead of one gift at a time. And whatever the year brings, the rule stays the same: 91% of every euro goes to the field.

25 EUR replants 12 square metres of seagrass. Next year's figures start with this year's gifts.

Material still to come from the Trust

An annual report summary is built around one financial year: its dates, its income and expenditure in euros, and that year's results beside the running totals. The brief gave the running totals and the 91% field share, but no reporting year and no yearly accounts, so this page summarises the figures as they stand and names no year.

Once the Trust supplies the reporting year, the year's results and its published income and expenditure, they slot into the results and finances sections above.
