Certificates and quality
For an international buyer, saffron quality is not a claim; it is a number and a certificate. Every shipment we send from Qaen carries both.
Colouring strength above 260 crocin
Crocin is the pigment that gives saffron its colour, and colouring strength shows how much colour the saffron releases.
The colouring strength of Zarrin Khorasan Saffron is above 260 crocin. We measure this figure before packing, and it is the number printed on our seal, just as on the label of every export tin.
ISIRI certificate
Our saffron is supplied with the ISIRI certificate, Iran's national standard for saffron.
The certificate travels with every shipment, so that buyers and exporters know, before they open the pack, that the saffron they bought has been measured against the national standard.

Quality testing
Testing is the fourth station on the saffron's road from field to package; after the hand harvest in Aban and traditional drying, and before packing.
