Saffron from Qaen, picked by hand in Aban

Since 1372 in the Iranian calendar, Zarrin Khorasan Saffron has produced premium saffron in Qaen and shipped it to buyers and exporters abroad. We pick the flowers by hand in the month of Aban, dry the stigmas the traditional way and deliver every shipment with a colouring-strength test.

Four grades, one soil

All four products come from the same flowers of Qaen; what differs is which part of the saffron thread stays in the pack.

  • Neginنگین

Whole, broad stigma threads; only the red part, with no style. The largest and most even grade, for luxury packs.

  • Sargolسرگل

Only the red tips of the stigma, separated from the style. Shorter, sometimes broken threads with strong colour; a common choice for wholesale buyers.

  • Pushalپوشال

Red stigma with a short piece of pale style. A sign of an authentic thread for markets that judge saffron by its look.

  • Brewed saffronدم‌کرده

Brewed saffron, ready to use, made from the same Qaen threads; for buyers who want colour and aroma without a step in between.
