Four kinds of work, one adviser

Independent, fee-only advice for families in London and beyond. Most families need more than one of these, and they are better done by the same person, who can see how each decision affects the others.

Investment management

Who it is for

Families who want their capital looked after over decades rather than quarters, and who want to understand what they own and what it costs.

What we do

We build and run portfolios with the patience of a pension fund: diversified, rebalanced with discipline, and matched to what the money is for and when it will be needed. We choose investments on their merits and their cost, never on what they pay us, because they pay us nothing.

We report in figures you can follow, including the fee in pounds, and we explain changes before we make them rather than after.

Retirement planning

Who it is for

People approaching the end of their working lives, and those already there, who want to know whether they have enough and how to make it last.

What we do

We answer three questions in writing: how much is enough, when you can stop, and how to draw an income that lasts as long as you do. We bring your pensions, investments and other income into one plan, so that each is drawn in a sensible order.

Then we revisit the plan with you as markets, health and family circumstances change, adjusting the income rather than abandoning the plan.

Trusts and estates

Who it is for

Families thinking about how wealth passes to children and grandchildren, and trustees who are responsible for money held on behalf of others.

What we do

We help you decide what you want to happen, and when, before anyone drafts a document. We then work alongside your solicitors and accountants so that the financial plan and the legal paperwork say the same thing.

Where a trust holds investments, we manage them to the trust's purpose and report to the trustees in plain terms they can sign off.

After the sale of a business

Post-sale advisory for entrepreneurs.

Who it is for

Founders and owners who have sold, or are about to sell, a business, and who now hold a sum that has suddenly become liquid.

What we do

First, nothing hurried. We help you hold the proceeds safely while you take time to think, and we keep the approaches you will receive at arm's length.

Then we work out with you what the money is for: the life you want next, the family you want to provide for, and any new venture you may have in mind. Only after that do we invest, steadily and in writing.

Why the first months should be quiet

Start with a conversation

You do not need to know which service you need. Tell us about your family and what you want the money to do, and an adviser will reply personally.
