Six people, one way of working
Kestrel Capital was founded in 2009 by two former pension-fund managers. A pension fund owes money to its members decades from now and has to explain every cost to its trustees in writing. Our founders set up the firm to give families the same habits: a long view, a written plan, and fees that are disclosed rather than discovered.

The team of six
Two founders from pension-fund management and the advisers who work alongside them.
-
The two founders
Both spent their careers managing pension-fund money before they set up Kestrel Capital in 2009. The disciplines of that work — long horizons, costs accounted for in writing, decisions that must be explained to trustees — are the disciplines of the firm.

The advisers
Every family has one named adviser, who knows the investments, the retirement plan, the trusts and the people involved. You are introduced to that person by name, and that is the person who answers when you call.
-
A deliberately small firm
Six people advise 640 families on £1.8 billion. A firm that size has no layers between the person who knows your family and the people who manage the money, and no one in it is paid by a product provider.

Accountable in writing
We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Our principles are written down on our approach page, so that every family can hold us to them.
