Advice that is paid for only by you.
Kestrel Capital is an independent, fee-only wealth manager in Mayfair. We were founded in 2009 by two former pension-fund managers, and we still work the way a well-run pension fund does: long horizons, costs written down, and nothing sold on commission.

What time and fees do to the same money
Move the sliders. The gold line is what the money could grow to after fees, the ivory line is what you put in, and the dashed line is the fee itself, added up year by year.

What this planner cannot tell you
This is an illustration, not a forecast and not advice. It assumes the same return every single year, which no real portfolio delivers: markets fall as well as rise, sometimes for years, and you may get back less than you put in. It leaves out inflation and tax, both of which matter.
Use it for one thing only: to see how much the shape of the result depends on time, and how much of it a fee quietly takes. Your own plan starts with a conversation about your family, not with a slider.
Three principles, written down
They are the reason the firm exists. Each one is set out in full on our approach page.
-
Fees you can read
We are paid by the families we advise and by no one else. The fee is written in plain figures, as a percentage and in pounds, so you can check it against your own statement.
-
No products on commission
We take no payment from fund houses, insurers or product providers. Nothing we recommend earns us more than anything else we could have recommended.
-
One named adviser
Each family works with one adviser, by name, who knows the whole picture. In a team of six, that person is never far from the people who manage the money.
Four kinds of work
Most families need more than one of them, and they are better done by the same adviser.
-
Investment management
In detailPortfolios run with the patience of a pension fund: diversified, rebalanced with discipline, and reported in figures you can follow.
-
Retirement planning
In detailHow much is enough, when you can stop, and how to draw an income that lasts as long as you do.
-
Trusts and estates
In detailPassing wealth on with care, working alongside your solicitors and accountants so that the plan and the paperwork agree.
-
After the sale of a business
In detailFor entrepreneurs who have just sold: time to think before anything is invested, then a plan for a sum that has suddenly become liquid.
Started by two pension-fund managers
A pension fund cannot afford to guess. It owes money to members decades from now, and it has to explain every cost to its trustees in writing.
Our two founders spent their careers inside that discipline before they set up Kestrel Capital in 2009, to offer families the same habits: a long view, a written plan, and fees that are disclosed rather than discovered.
Today six of us advise 640 families on £1.8 billion, from an office in Mayfair. We are independent, we are fee-only, and we are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
