What does your daily driving cost?
Four inputs, three models, one petrol car for comparison. The calculator shows the cost per 100 km, the annual cost and the charging stops per week – and discloses what it calculates with.
Your inputs, three models, one petrol car
The result is recalculated with every change. When you switch the charging type, the calculator fills in a guide value for the electricity price, which you can overwrite.
Result
| Model | € / 100 km | € / year | Charging stops / week |
|---|
52 weeks per year · charging losses 10 % at home, 5 % public, 8.5 % mixed · petrol car at 7.0 l / 100 km and €1.80 / l · one charging stop = charging from 10 to 80 %.
How we calculate
The cost per 100 km is consumption multiplied by the electricity price – plus the electricity lost during charging.
Cost / 100 km = consumption × (1 + charging loss) × electricity price
An example: the Fjord T5 uses 15.2 kWh per 100 km according to WLTP. Charged at home, 10 % charging loss is added; at €0.32 / kWh that gives 15.2 × 1.10 × 0.32 = €5.35 per 100 km. The petrol car, at 7.0 l and €1.80 per litre, comes to €12.60 per 100 km.
The annual cost is distance per day × days per week × 52 weeks × cost per kilometre. One charging stop corresponds to charging from 10 to 80 per cent, i.e. 70 per cent of the net battery capacity: 40.6 kWh for the Lumen C3, 57.4 kWh for the Fjord T5 and 52.5 kWh for the Kargo V2.
Consumption figures according to WLTP. In winter, with a high share of motorway driving and with a full load, consumption is higher. The electricity prices are guide values for the calculator, not Voltwerk tariffs.
