Eleven people on an island.

Ostrov Studio was founded in 2016 by Mila Ostrov and works from Amsterdam-Noord. Ostrov means island. North of the IJ, that is close enough to true.

How we work

Identity, web, packaging and motion, under one roof. So the logo, the website, the box and the thing that moves on a screen are made by people who sit within shouting distance of each other.

Eleven people: big enough to carry a rebrand for a rail operator, small enough that the person you briefed is still in the room when the work comes back.

Our clients work in culture, food, mobility and climate tech. Different shelves, same question: what is this, and why should anyone care? We ask about budget and timeline at the start, in the enquiry form, so nobody has to be polite about it later.

The team

Eleven people work at the studio. One of them is named here so far.

  • An abstract mark for Mila Ostrov: a black island rising from the bottom edge, a dark green hill behind it and one pale water line across both.

Come over. The ferry is free.

We are across the IJ from the centre, which sounds further than it is. Start with the enquiry form; it asks for a budget range and a timeline, and we take it from there.

Still to supply for this page

The design plans the team and an awards list. Only the founder was named, and the awards list is shown only once the studio has confirmed it, so neither is complete.

  • The names and roles of the other ten people, and whether each wants to be listed.
  • The awards list: name of the award, the year and the project.
  • Anything specific about the way projects run (phases, workshops, team set-up), if the studio wants it said.
